Connections Within the Mixedwood Plains
The individual components of the Mixedwood plains ecozone, which are landforms, climate, soils, natural vegetation, wildlife and human economic activities, each of them have a purpose in an ecozone. These individual components have a connection to one another.
An example of this is how aquatic species like the, trout, have suffered through pollution because of certain human activities, like commercial fishing and the destruction of their habitats. If the human economy were to stop commercial fishing the aquatic wild life wouldn’t have to suffer. This is an example of how human economic activities are connected with the wildlife.
Another example is how the soil is leached. Leached means the climate is wet and there is too much water and the nutrients have sunken into the ground so the roots of the plant cannot reach the nutrients. If the climate was a little drier, the roots would be able to get the nutrients and the soil would be fertile and great for farming. This is another example of how the individual components are connected to one another. This connection is between the climate and the soil.
These are examples of how the connections between different components of the Mixedwood Plains ecozone. If one of these components get affected by something is will carry it out to the others depending which component is being affected.
